Game rules
A two-player online chess game where players take turns moving their pieces on an 8x8 board. The goal is to checkmate your opponent's king, a state where the king is under immediate attack and has no legal move to escape.
Basic Rules
- Objective: Trap your opponent's king.
- Moves: Each piece has a unique way of moving (e.g., rooks move in straight lines, bishops move diagonally, knights move in an "L" shape).
- Special Moves: The game includes special moves like castling (a king and rook move), en passant (a special pawn capture), and pawn promotion (a pawn reaching the other side of the board can be promoted to a queen, rook, bishop, or knight).
- End of the Game The game ends in a win, loss, or draw. A draw can occur due to stalemate (a player has no legal moves, but their king is not in check), threefold repetition, or insufficient material to checkmate.
